Kylie At The V&A - The Experience

An earlier post in February, i mentioned the forthcoming Kylie Exhibition at the V&A Museum and today, i went to see it! Set in 4 rooms, it was pretty awesome to see the actual costumes she wore for her videos and tours - and all so tiny too! She really is petite! Together with an array of albums, singles and dvd artwork covers, and 60 photographs of her ever-changing image (how many hair styles?!), it really captured the essence of her and everything she has worked so hard to achieve.

One room was the re-creation of her dressing room from her most recent Homecoming Showgirl tour, along with a huge screen playing footage from it, and yet more costumes - a total of 45 on show, not forgetting the infamous gold hotpants!

One of my favourite costumes is the incredible red dress she wore on her Fever 2002 tour, which i was very privileged to see in Sheffield. As she came out on stage, raised up 15ft in the air, she had 12 dancers hidden underneath it. To see it for real was pretty special.

So after spinning around, it was a great step back in time and if i should be so lucky, i'll be going back for another visit (and even better, it's free!).

My gawd! This is the first I have heard of this artist. Have I lost touch with this world?
